Geotechnical Graduate Research Assistantship

Job Description: The graduate research assistant (GRA) will participate in an ongoing research project, which is funded by the Department of Defense. The goal of the project is to develop
methodologies to predict the depth of burial of unexploded ordnance at military sites. The GRA will carry out responsibilities assigned by the project principal investigator (PI), Dr. Mehdi
Omidvar. The tasks may include, but are not limited to, carrying out experiments, analyzing data, analytical modeling, and numerical simulations. The GRA may also be required to
participate in overseeing field testing related to the project. Additional tasks may include attending workshops, seminars and conferences to disseminate the findings of the research,
and participating in preparation of technical reports and manuscripts.

Requirements: (1) Bachelor degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, applied physics, or related fields. (2) Minimum GPA of 3.0. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have
an enthusiasm for scientific research, and a willingness to work collaboratively.

Compensation: $2,000 Monthly Stipend & 18 credits of graduate tuition
