Job Description For Study Hall Monitors Position
Summary: Study Hall Monitors will oversee study hall sessions for all student-athletes.
The Study Hall Monitor’s role is to oversee the use of the study hall area under the direct supervision of the SAASS Staff. Provides oversight of the room, ensuring an atmosphere conducive to studying. Candidates will be responsible for swiping students in and out of study hall, maintaining a quiet space that is conducive to completing work and monitoring students within the space to be sure that they are not breaking any SAASS Study Hall policies.
Multiple student workers will be needed, and work hours provides an opportunity for flexible shifts that are decided on a per-semester basis. Scheduling of hours will be daytime and/or evening, and up to approximately 10-20 hours per week. Candidates must also be willing to work on Sunday nights from 4-8pm.
Work hours are flexible around class schedule and work demands.
Weekly Hours: Between 5-20 hours depending on schedule needs and availability
Hourly Pay: $16 per hour
Essential Functions:
- Always arrives on time
- Provides information to students regarding the use of the study hall.
- Swipes Student ID cards to log students in and out.
- Monitors study hall attendance
- Ensures study hall is open at the posted hour and area is set up
- Provides students with notification of when study hall will be closing
- Signs off computer/Jasper Connect & returns all desks to proper location and re-locks or secures items, [where applicable] when shift is completed.
- Notifies supervisor of any behavioral issues.
- Complete forms and data entry tasks using PC applications [where applicable].
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as directed.
- Dresses in business casual attire
Requirements:
Interested candidates should meet the following minimum criteria:
- Overall GPA of 2.8 and above
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be a sophomore or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables)
