Biological and Chemical Sciences Lab and Office Assistants – Work Study Positions
Position Summary: The Biological and Chemical Sciences Department is seeking 3-4 work study students
to help set-up and/or assist in biology and chemistry labs and/or support the department with various
duties.
Requirements:
Completed general biology and/or general chemistry labs.
Good academic standing.
Prior lab experience is preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
Be available to work 4 to 7 hours per week. Exact schedule will be determined after hiring.
Help with refilling reagent bottles in the general biology/chemistry labs.
Prepare solutions for the undergraduate labs.
Inventory and organize laboratory supplies.
Maintain the cleanliness of lab spaces and common equipment used in the laboratories.
Be able to lift and move equipment for lab set up and return them to their place of storage after
labs conclude.
Help with washing and putting away laboratory glassware.
Under supervision, assist with miscellaneous tasks and duties related to the operation of a
department.
Necessary Skills:
Basic laboratory skills and comfortable working in a lab setting.
Be on time.
Detail oriented and efficient.
Good listening and communication skills.
Reports to:
Biological and Chemical Sciences Department Chair

Salary:
$16/hour for the fall semester, $16.50 for spring semester
