Salary Range:

  • Instructor $1477.28 per credit
  • Assistant Professor $1526.25 per credit
  • Associate Professor $1575.65 per credit
  • Professor $1625.04 per credit

Position Summary:

Manhattan University seeks a part-time Adjunct Professor of Philosophy to teach a range of courses, such as Introduction to Philosophy and Ethics for the Spring 2025 semester. Professors should be adept at teaching reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. We encourage a global, pluralistic, and inclusive approach to the discipline and to pedagogy.

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Introduction to Philosophy and/or Introduction to Ethics to undergraduate students at all levels and in disciplines outside of Philosophy
  • Creative approaches to critical pedagogy and writing across the curriculum, and dedication to equitable undergraduate liberal arts education is desired

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters or Ph.D. (preferred) in Philosophy (or related field)
  • Candidates with a proven record of excellence in teaching and who diversify the canon will be preferred.
