Position Title: Student Worker

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Office is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable student worker to join our team as a Student Assistant for the 2025-2026 academic year. This position provides valuable hands-on experience in a professional and confidential office environment, where you will support a variety of administrative and human resources functions, including hiring, onboarding, document management, and other HR-related tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist all HR team members with daily tasks as needed
• Greet visitors and provide friendly, professional customer service
• Assist with the hiring process for student workers, including creation of offer letters, tracking new hire onboarding paperwork, communicating with the candidates, and following up with departments as needed
• Coordinate and schedule I-9 verifications for student employees; help ensure completion and compliance with federal requirements
• Perform data entry, filing, copying, scanning, document organization, and maintenance of personnel files
• Maintain confidentiality and follow department protocols
• Support additional projects and administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must be a current student enrolled at Manhattan University
• Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study (noted on your Financial Aid Award Package)
• Able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Professional demeanor and willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications:

• Interest in Human Resources, Business, or related field
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Prior office or customer service experience is a plus

Hours: Up to 10 hours per week based on federal work-study award, budget, and availability, between 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Hourly rate: $16.50 for fall 2025 semester, $17.00 for spring 2026 semester
