Position Title: Graduate Assistant - General Athletics

Position Overview:
The Graduate Assistant in this role will provide essential support to the Manhattan University Athletics Department. This role offers a broad range of administrative and operational responsibilities, with a special emphasis on ticketing and box office operations during the basketball season. Under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Athletics, the Graduate Assistant will gain valuable experience in collegiate athletics administration and operations while contributing to the success of the department.

Responsibilities:

Administrative Support:

  • Assist with general office operations, including filing, printing, and organizing materials.
  • Prepare and type up various documents, forms, and reports for processing and distribution within the Athletics Department and to other campus offices.
  • Deliver documents to other campus departments for processing and collaboration.
  • Provide day-to-day professional assistance to the Deputy Director of Athletics and other staff members.

Box Office & Ticket Operations:

  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of the physical box office, including ticket printers, scanners, credit card readers, desktop computers, and will-call materials.
  • Attend all ticketed athletic events to support box office setup and operations, ensuring a seamless experience for guests.
  • Train and supervise student workers in ticketing operations and customer service protocols.
  • Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides and instructional documents for staff.
  • Respond to inquiries via phone and email regarding tickets, parking, promotions, and game-day logistics.
  • Manage inventory and place orders for ticket stock, box office equipment, and supplies.
  • Coordinate ticket discounts and promotional initiatives with the athletics administrative team.
  • Support ticket operations and logistics for MAAC tournaments hosted by Manhattan University.

Ticketing Website & Digital Ticketing Management:

  • Update and maintain the Manhattan University athletics ticketing website.
  • Add all ticketed events to the site with accurate details, including date, time, location, pricing, and seating charts.
  • Configure and adjust seating arrangements, including reserved seats for guests of the Director of Athletics.
  • Establish and update group ticket rates, individual ticket pricing, and season pass options annually.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Enrollment in a Manhattan University graduate program (required)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by athletic events
  • Interest in pursuing a career in sports management, athletics administration, or a related field

Desired Start Date: 8/15/25

End date: 5/31/26

Hours: Maximum of 20 hours per week or 300 hours per semester

Compensation: Tuition Remission (9 credits per semester)
