Position Title: Sports Medicine Student Worker

Job description:

Summary: Provide professional assistance under the supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director, Sports Medicine

This position will assist the department of sports medicine. Student workers will assist with daily functions of the sports medicine department in both Draddy Gymnasium and GPAC. Student workers will also be scheduled to assist the athletic training staff during game day operations at both Draddy Gymnasium and Gaelic Park.

Work hours are flexible around class schedule and work demands.

Candidates with work-study grants preferred.

Essential Functions:

  • Working as support staff for athletic trainers by providing assistance with maintaining a clean and organized treatment facility

  • Assigned tasks will include, inventory of supplies, laundry services and cleaning/prepping of all equipment

  • Assist with game day operations or events at both Draddy Gymnasium and Gaelic Park

Events include:

Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Indoor Track and Field, Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse, Cross Country, and other miscellaneous events.

In-Game Positions:

Assistant to the athletic trainer for each designated game

Requirements:

The position is for students enrolled at Manhattan University that have been approved by Student Financial Services for approval

Campus Employment Qualifications:

  • Positive Attitude

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and escalated situations

  • Ability to work as part of a cohesive team

  • Experience in clinical setting, previous athletics experience and or interest in sports

Physical Demands:

The position requires individuals to sit or stand for long periods during athletics games or events. This position requires occasionally working outdoors during inclement weather. While performing some of the duties of this job, employees must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-40 pounds.

Desired Start Date: 8/27/25

End date: 5/31/26

Hours: Between 5-20 hours a week depending on schedule needs and availability

Hourly Rate: $16.50 per hour
