Position Title: Communication, Sound, and Media Arts Department, Student Assistant

Hours: 10 hours/week

Hourly Rate: $16.50; after January 2026, $17.00

Job Description: The department seeks a creative, resourceful, organized student with strong communication skills, social networking knowledge, writing ability, organizational skills, A/V and computer literacy. An interest in creative media is a plus, as well as knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, computer scanning, MS Excel, and Macintosh computers. Candidates should be comfortable with taking initiative, have the ability to handle multiple projects of varying natures simultaneously, and have a strong collaborative and team spirit.

The student will have a very strong role in the development of the department’s physical and online presence. S/he will participate in the creation of promotional literature (e.g., flyers, brochures, weblinks, and email lists) for the department’s guest lectures, movie series, and curriculum. The student will also take an active role in recording and/or photographing rehearsals, lectures, and performances, as well as participate in the installation and tearing down of art and video exhibitions and maintain the functionality of the computer labs.
