Position Title: Student Laboratory Assistant

Job description: The Department of Mathematics and Physics at Manhattan is seeking a part-time student lab assistant to support our Introductory Physics Labs in Hayden Hall. This role is essential to keeping the labs running smoothly and ensuring a positive experience for students.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, take down, and maintain organization of lab equipment for PHYS 191 and PHYS 192

• Test experimental setups to ensure they function properly

• Report any broken or missing equipment to the Lab Manager

Preferred Qualifications:

• Must be eligible to work in the United States

• Dependable, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Attention to detail and care in handling equipment

• Preference will be given to students who have successfully completed PHYS 191 and PHYS 192 and who are in good academic standing

Hours: 4 hours per week

Hourly Rate: $16.50/hr
