Position Title: Student Network Technician
Hourly Rate: $16.50
Hours: (TBD) 10-20 hrs/week
Position Summary:
We currently are looking for a new Student Technician to join our Networking Department team within Information Technology Services.
Responsibilities:
As a new technician to the team, you will work with more experienced student technicians, with oversight by the ITS Network Administrator, to continue to troubleshoot network connectivity throughout campus.
Responsibilities Include:

Create, edit, monitor, and update tickets and tasks in our ticketing system Teamdynamix

Test, investigate, troubleshoot, and fix LAN and Wifi connectivity issues

Proactive and reactive support with regard to wired and wireless network connectivity throughout the campus area

Use of networking and cabling tools to troubleshoot customer connectivity problems
-
Install wireless access points in dorms and academic buildings

Run ethernet cables to connect network devices

Other related duties as assigned
Student technicians are also expected to pursue self-guided training to develop technology skills relevant to this position (some while on the job. Resources provided.)
Qualifications:

Prefer students with a major or minor in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
