Position Title: Dean's Office Assistant
Hourly Rate: $16.50
Position Summary:
The Dean’s Office Assistant provides general administrative and clerical support to the School of Engineering’s Dean’s Office at Manhattan University. This role is designed for current students who are organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the professional operations of the college environment. The assistant will support office staff, faculty, and administrators in daily functions that enhance student, faculty, and visitor experiences. Candidates must be eligible for Federal Work Study.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate(s) has completed at least one semester of engineering coursework at Manhattan University before August 2025.

The ideal candidate(s) will have a minimum GPA of 3.4 or higher.

The ideal candidate(s) will be conscientious, efficient, responsible, reliable, organized, proficient in problem-solving, Microsoft Office, and social media.

This position offers valuable professional experience in office administration, event support, and communication within a higher education setting. Students will gain transferable skills in organization, teamwork, and professional etiquette that can be applied across industries.
Responsibilities:

Greet and assist visitors, students, faculty, and staff in a professional and welcoming manner.

Support planning and logistics for events, meetings, and student/family visits.

Assist with preparation of reports, documents, and correspondence.

Help maintain office organization, supplies, and general upkeep of shared spaces.

Assist with updating bulletin boards and posting announcements.

Answering the phone in a professional manner.

Deliver interoffice mail and run errands within the campus as needed.

Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive documents or information.

Perform other administrative duties as assigned by Dean’s Office staff.
