Position Title : After School Tutor
Hourly Rate: $16.50
Physical Location: In-Person Inwood, or In-Person The Bronx
Hours:
- 3 PM - 5 PM Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (or a combination of hours within this range/flexible)
Position Summary:
The After School Tutor will provide academic support to students in a small group or one-on-one setting after school hours. The tutor will work with K-6th grade students to reinforce classroom learning, help with homework, and offer additional instruction in subject areas where students may need improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Provide homework / tutoring to K-6th graders in one or more subjects (e.g., math, reading, science, writing) based on students' needs.
- Assist students with homework, projects, and test preparation.
- Maintain a safe and productive after-school learning environment..
- Ensure that students are actively engaged and participate in learning activities.
- Assist in organizing and leading enrichment activities or educational games when appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year experience tutoring or teaching K-8th grade or similar experience working with children.
- High school diploma required; some college coursework or a degree in education, psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Start immediately.
