2024 Conference Assistant - Job Posting
Overview
Conference Assistants will receive pay for assigned/hours worked and free campus housing in addition to three meals a day as compensation. Typical work schedule includes 30-35 hours per week as assigned. Additional hours may be allocated based on demand.
Job Description
Attend and participate in required training sessions
Maintain cleanliness of residence halls from guest departure to arrival through housekeeping activities (removing trash and dirty linens, cleaning bathrooms and rooms, mopping floors, cleaning surfaces, making beds and placing down clean linens and supplies)
Regularly conduct inventory of linen, furniture, and equipment
Facilitate the setup and breakdown needs of tables and chairs for meeting facilities in accordance with room diagrams. This also includes the setup, management, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment in each event and conference venue
Greet guests upon arrival for check-in and farewell upon departure
Ensure the success of conference events via onsite presence and providing great customer service and support
Maintain organization of dining locations and the flow of guest traffic
Ensure COVID protocol compliance (if necessary)
Represent Manhattan College as an Ambassador for conference guests
Ability to problem solve in a fast paced environment
Able to work independently while also working well in a team environment
Ability to multi-task and quickly adapt to last minute requests
Offer suggestions on program implementation and suitable efficiencies
Ability to lift between 30 - 40lbs is required
Operational experience with computers and audio/visual is a plus. Training will be provided for those who are not familiar with the equipment.
** Employment period: Tuesday, May 23, 2023 - Sunday, August 6, 2023. All Full-Time Conference Assistants are expected to be available for work between these dates. Available to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
