The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Manhattan University seeks outstanding applicants for a visiting appointment at the Assistant Professor level starting in August 2024. The candidate should specialize in solid mechanics.

This candidate must be committed to the teacher-scholar model at a primarily undergraduate institution. Manhattan University Mechanical Engineering faculty are expected to maintain high-quality teaching. The candidate is expected to teach classes in areas including (but not limited to) Solid Mechanics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Machine Design, Manufacturing, HVAC, Building systems, etc. A successful candidate will be required to teach 24 credits per academic year.

The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and have a proven commitment to teaching and advising students. We seek faculty members with a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring who will create a climate that embraces excellence and diversity to attract and retain a diverse, talented student body. The department offers a concentration in Biomechanics and Aerospace at the undergraduate level, in addition to the eight concentrations currently being offered in the graduate program.

Manhattan University' s tree-lined campus is in the Riverdale neighborhood of the Bronx, adjacent to Van Cortlandt Park. Our New York City location offers easy access to world-class cultural, artistic, educational, and business activities.

Salary: $88,000 - $93,000 Per Year
