Radiation Therapy Program Clinical Coordinator

The Clinical Coordinator of the radiation therapy program will serve as a liaison between the students, clinical supervisors, hospital staff, and the program director to ensure comprehensive clinical education for radiation therapy students. The clinical coordinator provides on-site and lab-based instruction to students as they develop their technical radiation therapy skills. Additionally, the clinical coordinator makes curriculum enhancements and responds to ARRT radiation therapy content specifications for clinical education components.

Reports to: Program Director, Radiation Therapy Program

Responsibilities:

  • Clinical-based instruction/on-site visits to students. Will visit sites weekly while students attend internship rotation, more if remediation is necessary.
  • Supervisor outreach at least three times per semester, regular communication, meetings, clinical supervisor/instructor training and orientation/updates on policy/procedure, facilitation of rotation schedule, student placements, and clinic site criteria.
  • Curriculum oversight and assessment; internship course enhancements, including medical clearance, radiation safety, internship document compliance, and updates, maintaining
  • Trajecsys reporting and recording system
  • Lab-based instruction and simulation-based curriculum development using the virtual reality linear accelerator lab.
  • Continuous professional development and skills-based training to keep up to date in the field
  • Recruitment and initiative to increase clinical placements when appropriate. Ensure compliance with JRC policies and procedures.
  • Support of program, school, and college initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Must be a radiation therapy technologist knowledgeable of current radiation therapy technology.
  • Must hold a master's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited academic institution.
  • Hold certifications and registration in radiation therapy technology from the ARRT.
  • Must have a minimum of two years of post-certification radiation therapy technology experience.
  • Previous teaching experience preferred.

Salary: $80, 000 - $90, 000
