Manhattan University Non-Credit Programs is Seeking a Summer ESL Coordinator

This position will run from June 2nd, 2025, to August 15th, 2025, and reports to the Director and Assistant Director of Noncredit Programs. Housing may be available for the duration of the program. (To be discussed during the interview process).

Program Overview:

  • ESL students range in age from 14-20.
  • Approximately 20 to 40 ESL instructors will lead weekly classes.
  • Over 2,200 students are expected to participate.

Hourly Rate: $40.00

Responsibilities:

  • Select, recruit, and communicate with ESL instructors for the program.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure timely hiring of instructors.
  • Prepare weekly work shift schedules for ESL instructors.
  • Train and onboard incoming instructors.
  • Ensure instructor attendance and coverage for all classes.
  • Maintain high standards to deliver an excellent educational experience for students.
  • Support the Manhattan University English Language Director with classroom reservations, allocations, scheduling, and curriculum implementation.
  • Arrange substitute coverage promptly if instructors are absent.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for ESL instructors, students, and client partners.
  • Communicate classroom schedules to staff supporting ESL students and provide assistance as needed.
  • Typical work hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM, with occasional weekends as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • MA in TESOL or a related field.
  • At least two years of ESL instructional experience.
  • Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning.
  • Full availability from June 2nd to August 15th, 2025.
  • Proficiency with Google Drive and Learning Management Systems.
  • Legal US work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with classroom scheduling.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Positive, resourceful, and reliable demeanor.
